Our Client is looking for an exceptional New Business Manager to complement our existing team. This is a key role, responsible for seeking out and developing new business opportunities across all industry sectors. Working with the Client Service Director, the post-holder must effectively manage all aspect of the sales process from the identification of new prospects through to the production and presentation of pitch proposal documentation and associated marketing activities. The New Business Manager is also responsible for closing the sale and managing internal relationships to ensure effective delivery to the Client.

The successful candidate will be
intelligent, energetic and bright; ideally educated to degree level or with a professional sales or marketing qualification. Exceptionally persuasive interpersonal skills are essential together with a highly developed understanding of selling marketing services such as live events and incentive travel, multi-media and internet; film and video and performance solutions. Certainly the role requires a motivated self-starter with the ability to deliver against targets but would best suit an individual with a creative, consultative sales approach who has expertise in the development of longer-term clients and understands the associated lead times.

Job Purpose
To seek out and develop new business opportunities across all industry sectors, identifying and developing new business opportunities with clients who wish to deliver strategic corporate communications effectively, efficiently and innovatively through live events and incentive travel; multi-media and internet; film and video and performance solutions.

Role Responsibilities

  • To find, develop and win new business for the company

  • To research potential clients within nominated industry sectors, developing and agreeing the format in which this information is to be captured and shared

  • To identify prospects through the cold-calling and targeting of industry contacts, management of incoming enquiries, the drafting of tender responses and pitch proposal documentation and associated marketing activities

  • To present to potential clients as required, owning and producing all relevant documentation and material to support the pitch

  • To support the development, collation and maintenance of printed material required for the development of new business and marketing of client

  • To work with colleagues throughout client base, managing internal relationships and communications so as to maximize the potential of new business opportunities and subsequent, successful delivery

  • To attend meetings within Client Services and client generally, participating in Company updates, training and the development of new business development strategy

  • To provide weekly and monthly new business status reports and updates as required

  • To achieve annual/bi-annual sales targets as set by the Client Service Director

  • To understand and work developmentally with client offering incorporating its brand values and key business activities

  • Any other activities defined by the Client Service Director as being within the scope and range of the role of New Business Manager.

Person Specification

  • Intelligent, energetic and bright; ideally educated to degree level or with a professional sales or marketing qualification

  • Demonstrable knowledge and appreciation of the business development and sales processes with a proven track record of new business wins.

  • Motivated self-starter – proven ability and tenacity to generate leads and close business

  • Exceptional persuasive interpersonal skills and ability to make productive relationships quickly both internally and externally with potential clients

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce and present a range of professional communications, proposals and promotional material at all levels.

  • Creative, consultative sales approach with the ability to understand clients needs in order to make a successful sale

  • Strong network of business contacts suitable to the development of new business for the company

  • Highly developed understanding of selling marketing services including but not exclusive to: live events and incentive travel; multi-media and internet; film and video and performance solutions.

  • Target driven but with an approach and focus on the development of longer term clients and associated lead times.

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to be effective at every stage of the sales process from initial contact through to proposal and internal handover to the team who are delivering the activity.

We are keen to grow our business in other sectors and so a knowledge of the finance, pharmaceutical, telecoms and IT industries would be beneficial.
